Show Your Work at the Decker Room — A DIY Exhibition Opportunity for Creatives
The Decker Community Room invites local and regional artists to propose their own exhibitions in this flexible, community-centered gallery space on Ridgway’s historic main street. This is a DIY opportunity designed for creatives who want full artistic control: you design your show, curate your space, and shape the experience you want visitors to have.
The Town of Ridgway takes no commission on sales, and artists manage their own transactions directly—keeping 100% of their post-tax earnings. Whether you’re a painter, ceramicist, sculptor, fiber artist, experimental artist, or a curator organizing a group exhibition, the Decker provides 80 feet of gallery wall space, pedestals, lighting, display panels, and promotional support through FUSE.
Artists are responsible for installing and de-installing their shows, opening the space to the public, and for shaping the visitor experience—making this an ideal venue for emerging artists, experimental work, and anyone excited to build something uniquely their own.
Because the Decker is a multi-purpose community space used for meetings, workshops, performances, and film screenings, exhibitions must be designed so the room remains usable for other scheduled activities. Artists and curators have successfully worked within this shared model, and it contributes to a vibrant, active environment where many parts of the community intersect.
Proposals are accepted on a rolling basis.
